TRACK 2 – CHURCH PURCHASE OR CONSTRUCTION
WPA DISTRICT COMMITTEE ON PROPERTIES & BUILDINGS
- Inform
P&B Chairman of your intention to purchase/construct church building and
receive assigned Consultant and appropriate forms.
- Schedule
Getting Started presentation for
church leadership and interested parties with your Consultant.
- Present
concept to Membership for consideration.
- Appoint
Building Committee.
- Submit
appropriate forms and required materials to the assigned Consultant with a
request for an appointment at the next P&B Meeting.
- Pursuing
preliminary approval of building plans, the pastor and member of the local
building committee should present and discuss preliminary plans with the
P&B at the appointed meeting.
- When
preliminary approval has been granted, church committee should continue
with step 7.
- If
preliminary approval has not
been granted, church should amend plans accordingly, repeating step 6.
- The
pastor and member of the local building committee should present final plans
to the P&B for final approval.
- If
final approval has not been granted, church should amend plans accordingly
and return to the P&B at step 7.
- When
final approval has been granted, church should seek approval from
township/city authorities.
- Complete
the project.
- Submit
final form (2-3 FE) to P&B Consultant and (in electronic form) the
construction drawings as submitted to municipality for occupancy.
